08.01.2010 - emptiness in my heart
TOPIC 01: LOOK ONLY AT ME, PART2
This song by G-Dragon is my new favourite. The lyrics are so heartbreakingly beautiful, I can't help but cry when I watch this video. I don't want G-Dragon to go to jail~ (wails)
I don't know, I lost faith in him sometimes. VIPs told me AllKPop is biased, full of haters, bla-bla, but am I that easily influenced? I want him back on scene. To stand tall and proud and declare to Korea, to the whole world, he has done nothing wrong.
But...I don't know. I really want to believe in him. I really want to be like one of those fearless DCGD members and stand by him. I'm so confused. So when I found this video on YouTube and watch it...I feel...ashamed. I don't even think ashamed is the right word to describe what I feel.
I'm OK now. I will stand by G-Dragon, even if he go to jail. Because, as another GDfan told me, support is all he needs.
TOPIC 02: BoA, YOU ARE JUST NOT MEANT TO BE
This is not trying to offend BoA or her fans, I mean, I am her fan also. It's not because I know G-Dragon is her fan, but I have listened to BoA since her debut, so I have literally been her fan from the very beginning.
As you will soon see in the picture below, the BoA MOTO poster, which also happens to be my favourite BoA poster, had unattached itself from the wall. This had happened too many times for me to count, and I am fed up with waking up in the middle of the night to put it back up after hearing a loud ripping sound.
Favourite poster or not, it's just not meant to be stuck on my wall. I'm taking it down today and rolling it up into one of my poster tubes.
TOPIC 03: YUI IN DETROIT METAL CITY?
When I first saw this thread on YUI-Lover Forum, my initial reaction was WHAT?!
Turns out I shouldn't have worried. (I was imagining YUI performing on the same stage with Krauser II...scary thought) Another YUI fanatic, michelle_upm, had been very observant to notice YUI's I Loved Yesterday promo poster in a scene from DMC the Movie.
DMC is not recommended for minors (i.e. below 18), as it has explicit content and death metal is not exactly the kind of music genre you want to expose children to.
Find out more on YUI-Lover Forum.
TOPIC 04: tYUIf IS ON THE SAME LIST AS BIGBANG & XIAXUE?
I know this is only one person (NANA, thank you!) but this means a lot to me, the one and only webmistress of The YUI Fanatic (or tYUIf in short).
I have been running this website/blog for over three years, and seeing it turning up first on the list on search engines, watching people from other countries visiting tYUIf for information is a very incredible feeling.
Maybe there are many others out there linking to me, I don't know, but still I want to say a big thank you to my visitors. Without you guys, tYUIf will not stand as tall as it is today. ^^

06.01.2010 - today is damn bitter-sweet
TOPIC 01: SNOW!!!
I woke up and went about my business without realising it has SNOWED until I went down for breakfast. I was wearing slippers. How how how suitable for walking in the snow. It was a miracle I didn't fall over at all.
Actually I want to say I am possibly the most stable person when it comes to walking in snow. Haha. More about this in a bit.
So when I got back from breakfast, it was still snowing. Bless the whatever factors that make this weather condition possible. I forgot what the factors are.
Of course, Pingu is the happiest at the snowing!
Pingu: You! Yes, you. Howcome you didn't tell me it's snowing outside one hah? I want you to take a picture of me at the window! Now!
So rude one ah this stuffed penguin? I had half a mind to open a window and throw it out. Not surprisingly, she demanded I told no one the above picture was taken at the window. She didn't even want to be let out into her native weather conditions. Such a hypocrite.
Some shots of how winterly my school suddenly looked:
After school Ann and I went to town. Our first stop was the Salisbury Cathedral. It was my idea OK. I thought the cathedral might look magical covered in snow or something, but was a bit disappointed. On the way to town:
Pictures of the cathedral on a snow day's glory:
TOPIC 02: G-DRAGON IS NOT GOING TO JAIL
Help me. AllKPop had confirmed my worst worst WORST fear. My hubbie is possibly going to JAIL for doing something tons of singers had done before.
I suddenly hold a grudge against J.Y. Park. Forget he was Rain's producer and Rain has a lot of respect for him bla-bla-bla. J.Y. Park did NOT go to jail for what he did, which was similar to what my hubbie did. SO TO HELL ALL HATERS, G-DRAGON IS NOT GOING TO JAIL.
TOPIC 03: YUI'S ⌈Muffler⌋ IS A GREAT 'CONCENTRATION MUSIC'
YUI is a goddess. Her new single ⌈GLORIA⌋, due out this coming 20th, is packed full of everything inspirational. If GLORIA is motivating, Muffler is concentrating.
Unlike what most YUILovers suspect at first, Muffler does not sound sad but instead sound calming. Great as background music for studying and driving (as another YUILover stated).
If you haven't listen to Muffler yet, fret not. The song playing when you arrived on this page is - yes - none other than Muffler. I love this song to bits. You might also want to check out this post for the lyrics and the download links.
TOPIC 04: GET A CHANCE TO WIN ⌈GLORIA⌋ MUGS...
...when you buy the first-press limited edition of ⌈GLORIA⌋.
These ⌈GLORIA⌋ mugs are adorable and unveiled on the YUI Staff Diary today. Even though I am famous for openly hating the oh-so-girly-I-am-blinded PINK colour (plus it clashes with my new layout), it looks great on the ⌈GLORIA⌋ mug!

I want the blue one! ^^ More details about the ⌈GLORIA⌋ mugs and how to win them on YUI-Lover.
TOPIC 05: G-DRAGON SHINE A LIGHT CONCERT MERCS
I totally recommend buying from either Korean eBay seller smile-spoon or DVDheaven. Here are the links to smile-spoon's eBay shop and DVDheaven so what are you G-Dragon fangirls waiting for?
When mine arrived (yes I've already preorder them) I will wear the I ♥ GD badge all the time to show my support for hubbie. And on a last note...
...G-DRAGON IS NOT GOING TO JAIL (TOPIC 06)
He is totally NOT going to jail. If he really is going to jail then I am going to set up an anti-JYP club. Even though I love Wonder Girls. I am serious.

It's actually not quite a preview, since this song has already been aired on a few Japanese radio stations. Since us international fans can't possibly tune in to a Japanese music station let alone listen to it on air, someone has ripped it! I will credit this someone when I find out who it is. In the meantime, I present you the radio rip of Muffler.
Like the song? Read the translated lyrics here.

Happy New Year!!
Everyone, thanks a lot for the many messages!
Seems like everyone had a productive New Year's Eve!
For me, I went for my first shrine visit of the year! (hatsumoude)
It was cold out, so I stuck about 5 heating pads on myself.
Again, a new kind of feeling was experienced.
Year 2010 too, I intend to give my all and in 'my pace' mode, to try my best!
I pray that everyone too,
will have an enjoyable, happy and productive year!
Everyone, please take care of me in year 2010 as well!! (yoroshiku onegaishimasu)

As a YUILover and also an amateur web designer, I have always been fascinated by how YUI's official website (referred to as YUI-net hereafter) is designed to keep out unwanted ripping. After managing to gain 'access' to YUI-net's system, I will now list all the security blocks currently working on YUI-net.
To start off, I must say the security blocks are very well done. A person with no knowledge of HTML/CSS will not be able to figure out just how Sony Japan create this miraculous website.
Security blocks:
#1 Masked web-forwarding.
The URL, YUI-net.com, is in reality a secondary URL. I will not reveal the primary URL here as I want to keep it to myself.
Basically, for non-web-designers, masked web forwarding means a particular URL will redirect to a particular web page BUT the URL of the particular web page is 'masked', i.e. not shown.
In the case of YUI-net, http://yui-net.com/ will redirect to http://.../ (I'm not going to reveal it to protect Sony Japan - ironic much?) BUT the URL in the address bar will still be displayed as http://yui-net.com/
An example of masked web-forwarding in use is my secondary URL http://ping-gd.net/. Try clicking on a link and be amazed the URL in the address bar remain displayed as http://ping-gd.net/
Click here to see it in action.
#2 Hidden within and within and within another hosted folder.
Sorry to disappoint but this is no adabracadabra trick. It's relatively simple - hide a particular hosted folder deep within a few others. Too bad my hosting agent won't let me try this, otherwise you will be confronted with a high-tech and professional-looking layout the next time you visit my website.
A neat little trick that is a must for this hiding technique is a 404 error page. To do this, create a 404 page, name it as index.html and place it within a hosted folder. The hosted folder will then be displayed as 'access denied' to all but clever you, who knows how to get around to this.
Although I can't go all Grande Desseins like Sony Japan, I can still throw around a few 404 error pages. To the retards who tried to steal the pictures on my blog, I present you this.
And that's all! Run along, now!

I had a nice dream last night...I dreamt I met YUI!
Well in the dream I was at this place which looked like a mall. I was with my family and somehow, instinctively, I knew I was in Japan. There was this stage set up in the middle of the mall. It's quite hard to explain how it looked like so I'm going to use my not-so-great Microsoft Paint skills to show you.
The gray parts are ads banners and the orange part is the stage. Anyway there were not a lot of people there and although I had no idea who will be performing soon (the light blue and the dark blue parts were covered with a cloth at this point), I stood there a few feet in front of the stage anyway.
Then rapidly a lot of people began to gather around the stage. The cloth was dropped and I saw it said "YUI ⌈GLORIA⌋". I also saw the Japanese Kanji word "attack!".
As you can imagine, I became very excited at this point. (laughs)
A few minutes later a man came onto the stage! The man said something in Japanese which I somehow understood (dreams are weird aren't they?) to be something along the lines of "attack pledges" and "encouragements".
Then he said, "and now we welcome...YUI!" and YUI came onto the stage! A huge cheer went up from the crowd surrounding me. YUI waved shyly and said, "Hello, I am YUI." (The crowd and me cheered again.)
The man mysteriously disappeared and YUI said, "Have you guys heard GLORIA yet?" (The crowd and me answered yes excitedly.) "It is a song written based on the attack pledges of high school students and I hope it will motive people to do things which will have a greater good for them in the future." She fumbled a bit with the mike and her band came onto the stage. Then she said, "YUI, kitte kudasai. YUI te, GUROEIA."
She started singing GLORIA. The weird thing is, she didn't have a guitar with her. At the chorus of the song, she walked to the back of the stage and held onto something we couldn't see.
Then, she was lifted up...and appeared at the first dark blue part of the stage holding onto a white balloon, all the while singing! The crowd cheered. She was slowly lifted down back onto the stage, balloon still in hand. She scanned the crowd for a bit and gave the balloon to a little girl who was with her mother at the front of the stage.
I know what you think. It was an awesome dream, and it only gets better.
After she finished singing GLORIA, she said "thank you" and exited the stage. By this time I had gotten separated with my family and had no idea where they were. I was hungry so I decided to eat. Then I met YUI.
I went up to her and told her I am a big fan of her. (I have no idea what language I am speaking in.) She smiled and I whipped out my copy of GLORIA first press limited edition out of my handbag (now, how did it get there?) and asked for an autograph. She signed it, smiling, and I was so happy!
P.S. Mr Sonry was not around. Hahaha!
Then embarrassingly my stomach growled and she looked at me and said, "why don't we eat together? I haven't eaten either!" I immediately agreed, excited. Now I wondered why I hadn't faint on the spot. Must be because it was a dream.
We went to this ramen shop and ate there. While eating, she asked me how I come to know her and stuff, and I answered in my miraculously fluent Japanese. (This is indeed a weird but nice dream.) After the meal, she insisted on paying although I protested. =_= Mr Sonry popped out of nowhere and dragged YUI away, and I woke up.
What do you guys think? It must be because I was listening to GLORIA before I slept last night. =D

Muffler
YUI
GLORIA
unofficial translation
This year's winter, I was sure
We would be meeting again
Even after 4 years, you immediately smiled at me
On the way home from Miyajidake Shrine
In the middle of the path downhill,
In order to warm up the tomorrow
that seems almost frozen
I swing my arms
The town in my memories, under the twilight,
Rather than becoming nostalgic
In an even faster speed
Time seems to be rewinding itself
But the red muffler caught my attention
"Will you come back once in a while?"
You asked with a tiny voice
I started to nod but
...no
What if you already have a girlfriend?
I thought about that, absent-minded
Perhaps, that muffler too
is a present from her?
Unexpected reunions,
It's better to past them by quickly
Surely, the memories would change too
I know I'm not going back, to those days when I started to love,
I'm just glancing over my shoulder for a little while.
As soon as this season is over, the two of us (wo)
Will be separated once again right?
We always talk about this
Just like that day
The cold wind blows
In between the two of us lies a mean little joke
Erased by the uttered "good byes"
In reality I think,
You wanted me to stop you from leaving.
But I understand that
I'm probably thinking too much right?
ah ah la la la...
Each time a red muffler
catches my attention
Always ah ah la la la...

GLORIA
unofficial translation
ah ah ah ah ah
The door to fascination? Even your view of your future
Tries to change, because of your youth
Your life changes, you want a girlfriend/boyfriend
But you become a coward, it's like a mountain full of challenges
In order to find the answer,
I can't throw away this feeling, all night long
Isn't it your dream?
Just a bit more, and you feel you can reach it
Sometimes I can't see it anymore
Cry?
It's the same even if you look for a shortcut
You'll just get lost again
ah ah ah ah ah
All the successful people, they boast
about their experiences, but they sound like they're talking about others
And here I am, in this small room
Thinking, Dreaming of my future
I ask myself, but
I can't imagine that feeling, all night long
Aren't you losing?
GLORIA just past that bright future
You sure are getting closer
Cry?
I won't blame others anymore
I'll take it all myself
If you can't forget about youself and do this frantically, it's all a lie
uh uh uh When sakura starts blooming
uh uh uh I'll probably be able to find my new self
It's not a dream, you believe that you can do this
Although I'm scared inside
Cry?
You feel vexed, so Get glory days
Aren't you losing?
GLORIA in front of the bright future
You sure are getting closer
Cry?
Alone during sleepless nights
Even when you wrap your arms around your knees
baby theres no time to cry
ah ah ah ah ah

I've gone and make this fun thing called the YUI fanatic calculator! It's definitely something worth trying out if you are a YUI fan!
Here's the promo for this little game (hehehe) ^^
Have you ever heard of the Love Calculator? Well, it's a way of calculating the probability of a successful relationship between two people. I have taken this great invention of Dr Love and modified it slightly into a - you guessed it - the YUI fanatic calculator!
Why you should try the YUI fanatic calculator:
Are you a self-proclaimed YUI fanatic like I am?
Have you ever wondered how much of a YUI fanatic you are?
Are you a YUI fan?
If you tick one or more of the above boxes, then give the calculator a try by clicking here! Good luck now! ^^

I remembered listening to a pirate copy of this song two years ago, after a friend of mine first introduce me to YUI. The first song of hers that I heard was Rolling Star. I kept it on repeat for over two weeks, much to my mom's dismay (laughs).
I did not have the power to get the original of her singles and album at that time, so I could only resort to listening to the pirate copies. I can tell you that she became my favourite singer, and she still is today - you can already tell by reading the title of my website!
It's been over a month after my 19th birthday, and I still have quite a few months to go before I turn 20. I have no idea what it will be like to turn 20, but Steven Lee will be able to tell you! He just turn 20 a week ago. He is a YUI fan too and he writes Japanese-style cellphone novels on TextNovel.
Well, enough of my rambles. Let's move on to the video!

YUI has announced that she will start working on her next song. The new track will be part of a campaign to encourage high school students who are taking correspondence course programs. Students make oaths stating that they will constantly try to reach new heights for their future. The 'attack pledges' will be sent to YUI, and with those oaths in mind YUI will write a song to show support for those students.
YUI commented about the song, and also cheered on the students. "The song will become a reminder for both you and me to never forget our roots, our initial aggressiveness. Everyone goes through harsh and hard times, and it might seem easier to just give up. But I became what I am now today by facing and fighting those feelings. I sincerely encourage you to do the same. Let's continue our drive forward!"
YUI is planning to finish writing the song by January 2010 (no schedules for the song's release have been announced). The song will then be used in TV commercials for 'Shinken Zemi High School Course' [correspondence course program] from January 2010. From among the students who sent 'attack pledges' 30,000 winners will get to download the truetone version of the song for free.

G-Dragon, leader of Big Bang. After YouTube-ing like crazy, I finally was hooked onto him. It's his cuteness and the way he smile. And I don't give a damn what he is doing to his hair. I am now officially G-Dragon's fan.
One of the very few videos I uploaded to YouTube was removed due to copyright infringement, a claim made by Sony Music Records Inc., YUI's label. My initial reaction was shock, but I accepted it after a while. It's going to be the first and last time I receive that notice, since I'm a bit scared, hahaha. Oh well, it was good while it lasts.

I found this video on YouTube...love it so much! Thank you, kitsymeow, whoever you are! Why Don't You Kiss Her is one of Jesse McCartney's earlier songs and is a song I was crazy about. (And still is crazy about!) The video footage is taken from a Japanese Movie called タイヨウのうた (Taiyou no Uta, also A Song To The Sun), in which YUI starred as the main female lead character. The movie also feature three of YUI's songs, Good-Bye Days, Skyline and It's Happy Line, all of which is compiled in her single Good-Bye Days. So now enough with the babble, onto the video!

There is a rumour going around saying YUI's song LOVE & TRUTH, famously known for being featured in the Japanese movie CLOSED NOTE, will be used as an opening song for the famous ninja anime Naruto: Shippuden.
This is however just a rumour, although convincing videos on YouTube seemed to say otherwise. At the time the videos on YouTube was posted up, the part portrayed in the videos (Uchiha Sasuke killed Uchiha Itachi) was not yet out as an episode in Naruto: Shippuden.
The videos are fan-made and YUI's LOVE & TRUTH is never used as an opening in Naruto: Shippuden. Take a look for yourself and you decide:

Highway Chance
YUI
CAN'T BUY MY LOVE
translated
Even if this doesn't end, don’t you want it to end?
I'll wait for a chance
Patiently, I'll wait for a chance
To the airport or the harbor, it really doesn't matter how I get away
Things such as life don't seem so simple to overlook
I return home, quickly, I return home.. At night it's the same thing
Because there are no such thing as loopholes
Hunger or defeat, it really doesn't matter how I manage to hold on
Things such as life don't seem so simple to overlook
I'll start this over again, I won't forgive you, just look behind you
This isn't some video game!
From the high speed railway, I board a train, like an image
I press on, but the reality is that I just tumble into his palm
Regrettable or sorrowful, it doesn't matter how I get away
Things such as life don't seem so simple to overlook
However, I won't give up! This is sour and no good, a chance should be able to come
That day is far away
From the high speed railway, I board a train, like an image
I press on, but now I still just tumble into his palm
Even if this doesn't end, don't you want it to end?
Now it's time to endure this, so save your strength
I'll wait for a chance
Patiently, I'll wait for a chance
From the high speed railway, I board a train, like an image
In order for reality to change, I have to move forward!
In order to set free this highway chance, I don't look away
Bye bye bye, because soon enough, I'll pass you up
My belief in you is gone and no matter how hard you try to make me, it will not come back. Don't be so naive, life is not so simple, time can't be turned back and words can't be unsaid. Regretfully, what you say that day will always come back everytime I see you. What you seek is impossible. My chance is now with others and not with you. Give up already.
